MIAMI, Fla. (January 12, 2019) —
Inter Miami CF are set to sign Scottish winger Lewis Morgan via a transfer deal with The Celtic Football Club, reports the BBC and other British media outlets.
Morgan, 23, has found playing time relatively limited in Glasgow since arriving from St. Mirren at the start of 2018. He also spent time on loan at Sunderland last year. Morgan has remained on the fringes of Neil Lennon’s team this season, clocking up 18 appearances in total for less than 900 minutes of action, and making just three Scottish Premiership starts

A Scotland international, Morgan is reported to be the subject of a “six-figure” transfer fee, reported to be as high as $390,000 [£300,000] as Miami seek to fill out their roster ahead of their inaugural match away to the Los Angeles Football Club on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the opening match day of the 2020 MLS season. Morgan is said to have departed Celtic’s winter training camp in Dubai in order to complete the move.
“We have significant international players still to sign,” Miami sporting director Paul McDonough told MLSsoccer.com Thursday during the SuperDraft. “We have an international winger that we’ve got agreed, we’re doing personal terms with. We have a DP striker that we’ve agreed [a fee] with the club, trying to see if we can get personal terms done. We have midfielders we’re trying to secure and one or two centre backs.”
Is Morgan the international winger McDonough is speaking about? We will know shortly.
