Córdoba CF’s biggest sponsorship in the history of the club and division.

The agreement with the Italian brand ‘Givova’ will bring in three million euros

ESPAÑOL

MIAMI (September 24, 2020) Córdoba Club de Fútbol announced last May an agreement with the Italian company Givova. The four-year deal will bring in €3m to the Andalucian club. This marks the largest sporting provider agreement in the club’s history, as well as the largest ever in Spain’s Segunda B (third division). It is also woth more to the club than the supplier deals it had in place when it played in La Liga (1st and 2nd division).

Córdoba finished the 2019-20 season in fifth-place in Group IV of the Segunda B, and, as a result, just missed out on the promotion playoffs.

With this partnership, Córdoba will receive, between product and money, an amount that could increase incrementally if the club achieves predetermined sporting objectives, according to club officials.

From the first moment we said that our primary objective is to position the club where it belongs and this contract is a step in that direction.”

Javier González Calvo, Club Advisor

The club, which was relegated to the Segunda B in 2019 after 12 years on the professional level, had a change of ownership at the beginning of 2020 with the entrance of the Infinity group, with capital from Bahrain.

The chief advisor for Córdoba CF, Javier González Calvo, made clear via the club’s social media channels that the club is “very satisfied” with this agreement “in a very complicated moment like the present time.” “From the first moment we said that our primary objectvie was the position the club where it deserves to be and this contract is a further step in order to realise that goal,” added the chief advisor.

The sponsor Givova, was founded by Giovanni Acanfora, who still serves as president of the company. The enterprise has its headquarters in Scafati, in the Province of Salerno. (Scafati is a neighbouring town of the legendary Pompei.) The Italian brand is the kit supplier for a number of professional teams, including the national sides; amo of Malta, Iraq and Venezuela, as well as providing gear for other sports such as indoor soccer, basketball, handball, baseball, rugby and volleyball. This is the third time in the past decade that Córdoba has signed a kit and sporting provider contract with an Italian company, after previous engagements with Acerbis and Kappa.
